2010 - 2011 Meeting notes
We had a record turnout at Tuesday's Roundtable, hope
everyone had a good time and will return next month.
Octobers theme is Fishing, so check out the info below on
Fishing. It was also mentioned that Saturday, September 25 is National
Hunting and Fishing day in Georgia. Georgia residents can fish for
free that day. Learn more
here.
The discussion this month was related to recruiting
Webelos into Boy Scouts. Thanks to everyone that participated in the
discussion. We will have a guest speaker coming in next month.

2009 - 2010 Meeting notes
One speaker was Nate Thomas with the Lookout Mountain
Conservancy and they have several potential Eagle projects as well as Troop
projects.
Here
is a handout he provided with just a few of the projects. His contact info
is Nate Thomas – 423-424-3882. The web site is
lookoutmountainconservancy.org.
Our second guest was Walt Hodges who is a volunteer
with Lula Lake Land Trust atop Lookout Mtn. Walt is an Eagle scout and
previously was the Land Manager of Lula Lake. Lula Lake is open to the
public the first and last Saturday of each month. They will also let scout
units camp on the property when available. Noel Durant is the current Land
manager and can be reached at 076-639-3099 for more info related to camping
opportunities. The web site is
www.lulalake.org. Walt also discussed the Nickajack Connector trail
which is the first part of a trail that will link Lula Lake Land Trust to
Cloudland Canyon State Park, more info can be found at
www.lulalake.org/participate/events.asp?event_id=501. This is a multi
use trail (hike, bike, and horse) and the first section is currently open
with a 5.5 mile out and back trail, total of 11 miles.
